VCT Truth nuke

VCT is the only (e)sport where people are unaware that players get worse with time.

Every other sport that requires physical ability (yes it takes physical ability not a lot but reaction time and movement especially) gets worse as people age
Not to say that players can get better/relive their prime but combine the fact that the meta is changing constantly and someone who is best itw in one meta can be ass in the next makes it very easy for players to fall off espically after a few years. Theres a reason rookies/very young players are consistently dominating. You are already seeing the fading stars in Derke Aspas Alfa Chron etc. Zellsis is perhaps the smartest out of these playershe switched to igl because he knew he couldnt keep up anymore. Soon you will see the players able to flex either pick up igl or retire, but the sole duelists with agent puddle are much worse. Players like something who can play very few agents and only job is to aim will be gone very quick because whats the point in this type of player if they cant dominate

Saying this while glazing a player who's career is older than the esport itself is kinda ironic and who also proves the exact opposite if we're being honest

I agree about the meta part, but Derke, Aspas, and the “older” players is still very good

Also those players are still great, in case of Derke and Chronicle they are struggling due Vitality as a team has a poor structure but both keep performing well, aspas goes insane when it's actually need it right now (mainly at the end of the year/champs), and Alfajer why is even in your list when this guy can play any role that boaster tells him to play and it's going to perform with almost everyone well and zellsis was mid af since Version1

Need to stop this gimmick where we act like age causes a significant change in reaction time. The reason people get worse as they age is bc they start to have new responsibilities/lose passion. Players who still dedicate their life to the game even if they’re old will stay on top of their game regardless.

what? people who talk about age like it matters in valorant might actually be stupid, you'd have to be like 40 years old for your reaction time to have decreased to the point it's hindering your gameplay. the vast majority of the "older" players are under 30, their extremely slight decrease in reaction time is inconsequential.

I agree with what jonahpork said, meaning an older player would still be good at the game if he still gives it his all.

players get worse and better every few months most don't drastically fall off in esports tbh due to how young they start . There have been players who have improved massively too overtime instead of getting worse example would be endoist in Thailand he has been dominating ranked and pro in recent months he has been playing for years this is first time he is playing at that high level. Karam1l in India is another example this year.
That's why the greatest players are those who maintain a floor which is high enough to atleast be an above average player even when they fall off a bit and obv at their peak they are best in the world . These are all the ones who played in 2021 and still play actively. That's why I don't believe in linear careers and I am big fan of picking consistent players while creating a team than trying to ride someone's peak whose baseline isn't that high to begin with .
