Hello, I was wondering if I could get some people's general thoughts on every International winner from all the way back in 2021 to now? doesn't have to be if they deserved it or not, just your general thoughts:

Reykjavik 2021: Sentinels

Berlin 2021: Gambit Esports

Champions Berlin 2021: Acend

Reykjavik 2022: OpTic Gaming

Copenhagen 2022: FunPlus Phoenix

Champions Istanbul 2022 LOUD

Lock/In 2023 São Paulo: Fnatic

Tokyo 2023: Fnatic

Champions Los Angeles 2023: Evil Geniuses

Madrid 2024: Sentinels

Shanghai 2024: Gen.G

Champions Seoul 2024: EDward Gaming

Bangkok 2025: T1

Toronto 2025: Paper Rex

Champions Paris 2025: NRG

Santiago 2026: Nongshim Redforce

You don't have to do every winner, just the ones you really want to share your thoughts about

100t 6-5 nrg? this is with nrg winning 2 in a row so before it was 6-3

#48

Even with this why are we just lying and saying they’ve always had NRG’s number lmao

and 2023 was when they picked up cryo so NRG are 5-4 100t with cryo lmao

the general takeway i have is we are increasingly seeing that winning teams
(t1 bangkok/nrg champs/ns santiago)
are all playing sorta their own unique style even if isnt the 100% consensus meta
showing that player comfort on roles > forcing weird roles to fit a meta

FPX Masters Copenhagen 2022 has to be my fav event and fav winners
FPX players facing visa issues cuz of the conflict and playing with a sub in group stage without suygetsu. Them barely making it out of that group stage and then another incredible lower bracket run in the playoffs to win the whole event.
And not to forget that this was the first valorant tourney with a crowd (organizers initially facing backlash for an arena with only 2000 capacity). But the crowd was so hype and still so loud despite being limited.
Such amazing vibes

Also the ardiis FPX FPX chants and vlr going crazy during the whole event is just unforgettable

Second ever team besides EDG, and EDG looked the same right upto this point and now its on NRG to not follow that path and actually prove themselves to be a Non fluke champs winner

I'll rank these by their finals because you said winners. I'll be rating them out of 10

Reykjavik was TenZ's trophy, not Sen's 5/10
Berlin 2021: Fun to watch, although it was a 3-0 the maps were decently close. 7/10
Champs berlin: Acend had the best IGL in the world at the time in Bonecold, The best opper of all time, Starxo, Five below Nats, and Zeek was also there. Going up against another great IGL Redgar, Liquid MVP nats, GOAT chronicle, The cracked flex sheydos, and D3ffo was also there.
A bit dissapointing, GMB definitely should've won but hey, it happens. You play bad, other team plays good, you lose, that's the game. All around an entertaining and close final so I give it a 7/10
Reykjavik 2022: OpTic was the best team in america going against the other best team in america, Very fun watch, almost never a dull moment. 9/10
Champs 22: OPTC v LLL rematch same as reykjavik but with a champs trophy on the line. 9.5/10
Copenhagen 2022: The most fun tournament valorant has had so far, a fun final with two great teams. 10/10
Lock//in: FNC up 2-0 nearly get reverse swept by Loud only to come back 11-3 down on the BAD HALF OF ICEBOX???. 9.8/10
Tokyo 2023: Fun to watch, Prime EG against Prime FNC, two superteams player decently close sets. 8/10
Champs23: The demon1 show, but he was fun to watch. He had a fun playstyle that worked across roles 6/10
Madrid: Prime Gen.G vs Prime SEN, call it a mickey mouse call it whatever you want that final was fun to watch and the casters knew what they were doing. 9.5/10
Shanghai: Gen.G Shat on heretics toward the end, by map 4 their mental was shattered. 7/10
Champs: The s1mon show, Literally the only player on that roster was s1mon and sometimes KK. Completely undeserved 3/10
Bangkok: Watched almost the whole thing IIRC, very fun final that had my heard racing, two teams that were expected to be there and both played pretty good valorant. 6/10
Toronto: Paper rex break the grand finals curse against a pretty good looking FNC team. the 2v4 to close it out was peak. 8/10
Paris: First champs that didn't rely on individuals, it felt like the whole team was firing on all cylinders. Ethan became a 2x champ against FNC. 9/10
Santiago: Very boring final, yeah the winner deserved it but only one close map? yeah right 2/10

Pre Partnership Era:

  • Copenhagen 2022: FunPlus Phoenix: Enjoy this one mainly due to pacific teams make it to grand final, no more degradation of minor region.
  • Champions Istanbul 2022 LOUD: Timezone makes this tournament enjoyable, 1st tournament that doesn't go super late night -> sunrise.

Partnership Era:

  • Lock/In 2023 São Paulo: Fnatic: Regret not enjoying the full grand final live, timezone super rough, dozed off in 2 of the maps.
  • Shanghai 2024: Gen.G: Pacific finally won international tournament, favourable timezone to watch despite the Shanghai library.
  • Champions Seoul 2024: EDG: What a year, 2 great timezone to watch and saw my team EDG lifts Champs trophy on 1st year of VCT CN.
  • Bangkok 2025: T1: 3x asia timezone? No more staying up late night like 2021 & 2022, the team I support in pacific (T1) won. Event is in SEA too.
