Is it just me or does anyone else hate this narrative. Like I heard it first when meteor won back to back but it is completely meaningless. Back to back is supposed to show some type of dominance but if you remove champs ur just moving the goal post no?

by this logic the narrative of "world champions" just for champs works the same
This is not true imo. When we say NRG are world champs, imo no one think of NRG as the best team of last year just that they won the biggest tournament. It has nothing to do with their dominance over that year. Same thing with EG and Fnatic. Fnatic was that best team of 2023 but EG just won the biggest tournament.
Champs trophy is special for a reason. You keep world champ tag full year.
Back to back masters is a delusion to glaze players, back to back internationals is what should matter
Just because you failed to win the world cup doesn’t mean you aren’t back to back champs at the Euros. Just because you didn’t win the olympics doesn’t mean you arent back to back champions at the world championships
It’s not moving goalposts
But World Cup and euros are different tournaments with different teams. There is no difference in champs and masters besides you have 4 more teams that never do anything.
