Competitiveness isn't a trophy now is it, it doesn't matter if you finish last or are the last to lose, its still doesn't change the fact that EMEA hasn't won anything meaningful since mid 2023, and its pretty embarrassing that EMEA has made that many GF and lost all of them except a mickey mouse one. Also if you're going to include EWC might as well include RBHG, SOOP, Radiant invitational and all those other offseason tourneys.

Prize pool doesn't matter when the tournament has shit format and the teams are playing fatigued from Masters toronto, or with subs, or with new rosters, all while it happens in the middle of China and China has to schedule around the tourney. And this speaks for the competitiveness too.
Also the EWC final was not iconic in any way what so ever, I bet most people outside EMEA don't even remember the match happening, and I would also say that FNC getting 13-0'd at Soop was way more memorable than anything that happened at EWC apart from the tech pauses.

ignoring EWC, average placement is the most reliable metric for how good a region is, not their finals appearance or their trophies. it was that way in 2023 (where emea won the most trophies but americas was the better region) and it'll always be way.
americass fans call emea a one team region when they're winning then say "trophies are the only thing that matters" when they're losing
