the region has never looked more balanced tbh. all the known top dogs of the region are in lowers or eliminated (Gen.G, DRX, PRX, RRQ)

teams that were seen as weak like Nongshim, GE, DFM are doing really well

regardless of your biases this is objectively very healthy for the region. i hope we end up sending our strongest representatives to Santiago :)

VCT Pacific

real. people forget that in the end these teams all represent the same region. regardless of if PRX shits the bed or Gen.G, it's not SEA/KR that takes a hit, it's Pacific

Facts. Fuck even ZETA looked decent in their last game. This region will stay on top for a while

honestly NS going to santiago actually make it more interesting for apac, amer and emea teams will have dambi neon rent free in their head trying to counter him knowing its a fixed strats

with NS looking like pretty much the best team in the region at the moment, I want to see either RRQ and one of T1/PRX/DFM make it. RRQ i think look significantly better than the other 3 teams. even though they're known as international chokers i still like the way they play

im like 90% sure rrq will make it, ns played insane today they were shooting different, at the end of the day in apac whoever shoot better win no matter the strats, i just hope they keep same form in santiago no international stage jitters whatsoever

rrq looked super well drilled and disciplined. if they clean up some mistakes and fix their breeze comp (pity they only have one Jemkin because he would have farmed on Jett) and most importantly, if they don't shit the bed at a LAN they can be another real top dog.

exactly. some fluctuation of strength is always welcome in sports and e-sports scene alike.

Even in cn where ag got the first seed

don't think so...
without a clear top dog to beat, teams don't have a set goal in mind and play more aggressive in nature. that's pretty much why neon-one trick team team made santiago whereas a system team like drx lost in lowers

it is healthy to have parity in your region as it means everyone is competing against each other. monopolising the tournaments does not promote competitiveness and growth.

i'm not saying monopolising the tournaments is good... what i liked was 2024 pacific where 2 teams were right up at the top with geng and prx and the other teams were fully focused on beating them.
monopolising would be like 2023 where only prx was good and the rest were simply just not consistent enough.
i like that ns did come up as the first team but also hate it because wtf are the teams with experienced players doing...
u have t1 with munchkin, meteor, buzz, stax, izu (all of them masters winners and buzz with 5 champs appearances) losing to nobodies led by rb
i hate that the quality of games was so bad in games like fs v ns, prx v ge, prx v t1.
like wdym there were 5 back to back thrifty rounds??? are the players actually drunk or high?
teams made so many mistakes and choked so many leads. that is not good gameplay by any means yk

and i generally hate teams that rely on the neon comps so i can't help but dislike the way this result turned out

Strongest Representative for pacific to continue 4/4 masters would be:

  • NS: (playstyle to surprise EMEA/NA teams)
  • T1: International Experience players + 2025 Masters Winner
  • PRX: International Experience players + 2025 Masters Winner

yes, i was only conflicted about ns/rrq but now that ns have won this is the best outcome for pacific

lowkey it can be T1/PRX or it can be RRQ. yeah RRQ haven't won an International but they clearly have the potential as long as they keep their domestic form

RRQ needs to bootcamp in NA/EU in offseason. Their lack of international experience is very worrying. PRX/Stax & Buzz's team farm international spot for asia pre partnership days.

RRQ as a team have more experience per player than GEN.G did in 2024, it's just some sort of mental issue maybe, or a stylistic issue (these guys were an anti-heavy team). if they clean that up they have the fundamentals and player quality to really do well at a LAN

yeah, i have always believed pacific to be the best region solely due to how entertaining and competitive it is, the best teams are strongly challenged by middle of the pack

it also just brings viewership to teams we wouldn't watch otherwise. im not gonna watch like a regular zeta game, but they're playing against like drx or something so im more likely to watch it

VCT KR:
T1 - DRX - GEN.G - VARREL - NS - FEARX - ONSIDE GAMING - Dplus + ???

VCT SEA + Others (Idk to make a cool name of it)
PRX - RRQ - TS - GE - DFM - ZETA - FS - BME - FCY - SP - OAS - FENNEL

this looks similar to the VCT EA/VCT SEA propositions i've seen drawn up over the past like 4 years but i don't get it because there's no justification yet for the formation of two different leagues.

splitting up the viewership is not healthy to maintain two different venues and production crews and staff.
moreover as we've seen from Ascension there is simply not enough talent yet to sustain two different leagues. let's be real, BME are the only real contenders from SEA tier 2 and KR doesn't have enough good teams to justify a 9 team league. moreover, having all the teams face each other promotes strength. prx would never have picked up patmen for mindfreak and won toronto if they kept farming their domestic leagues. rrq would never have gotten so good if they hadn't had to grind against prx/geng for like 2 years.

also this rhetoric just gets parroted by doomers who prioritise their own regional biases over people who only care about having the best representatives. face it man, this current format produces the strongest teams.
