I figured out how to nerf viper

A) Make the sentinels better at lurking
If the sentinels are better at lurking, then viper loses her 2nd controller position because then the sentinel player runs a sentinel who gives better tools to secure an area than viper's smokes
OR
B) make lurking for controllers mainly giving agents like astra and omen more controlled agency over the lanes they can cover for lurking(like make the recall star for astra last like 5s instead of the barely existent 1.25s or smthn)
OR
C) Give up and add a new agent who can lurk like viper except offers better tools for a different style of lurking that allows it to be deeper in nature

Her ability to lurk by smothering multiple sightlines at the same time no matter where she is

you'd have to either remove the wall or just nerf the fuel by a lot but that affects the orb too

But the wall is the main "gimmick" Of viper and the fuel also.
So maybe just make it so that viper's wall cannot be activated out of like some range from the wall itself.
So then if it does go up its info to the enemy that "ok viper somewhere in vicinity"

yeah
#6 is a good suggestion ngl it takes your crosshair off which is really vital for lurks imo
maybe increase the wall fuel consumption by 10% max

lurk is not main reason for viper getting big value it is cause all utility has time limit and viper has no limit only fule which take 20 sec refule from 0 to 100

yeah but making other agents stronger wouldnt really fix viper. I feel like viper needs a more direct nerf

Sentinels lurk are already great (except KJ). i'd say the only fair nerf for Viper is longer recharge, and increase cost on orb

I think you lost me
The reason viper is good
SHE IS THE SUPREME leader of lurking
Mainly because of the wall being very very good, at suffocating entire sightlines
(Example: the split A wall can suffocate both the a main and a ramp sightline with 1 ability, lotus A wall can suffocate the entire A main chokepoint, corrode B wall can allow a lurk through to B elbow, haven A/B wall that allows lurking into A short and also smokes part of B)
And the only counter really, is either deep aggression to push past the wall, or to simply setup sentinel utility(which as we know is very easy to break)
No sentinel or controller can achieve the same sightline suffocation as viper

Viper is obviously the best agent for lurking right now, no argument on that. What I'm saying is that rather than making Sentinels have more kit for lurking (which they already have for passive info), they should just balance Viper. This is a Viper problem, not sentinels being weak.

I mean. To nerf viper in a way that gives sentinels their role back you would all but need to delete viper
Or completely rework the wall or fuel or smthn that removes her from the meta
