He definitely gets too much credit as an IGL. He was a bad IGL, admittedly by himself, in 2024, and as soon as he IGLs with a competent coach he's apparently the GOAT IGL for 2025 champs
chronicle gets the same if not more pr despite the fact he's also been carried by better players his whole career
he also played alongside alfajer, derke, kaajak, nats, leo, etc.
all better players, all carried him
nats carried chronicle oh hell nah chronicle literally had 14 more kills more assists more acs more adr better fk/fd +- better rating in grand finals and even before grand final he was always up there with nats
in lock in the only match where he went negative was against loud and still had more adr acs than alfa
chronicle was the best player on his team for exactly one event in 2021, one he didn't even win
he has had better players on his team before and after
ethan managed to carry nrg on the last map of champions and win the title for the team, chronicle in all of his teams has never had a performance like that, he was never that standout in a crucial moment to win a trophy
meanwhile where was chronicle in that final? completely disappeared. kaajak was left to do everything
classic, you can’t expect that from him if he was never that type of player, on fnatic it was always alfajer or kaajak trying to do everything
when you think about champions you remember a lot of iconic moments, s0m’s clutches, ethan carrying the team on the last map, aspas dropping 80 against nrg with that historic performance, and the only thing chronicle reminds me of is him crying at the end of some match because he couldn’t perform
unfortunately they made him believe he’s a player he never was, he never had that x factor to carry teams to glory
so if clutching up when it matters doesn't mean anything, what does?
chronicle doesn't show up when it matters, just statpads against ass teams and then disappears when it does matter, and yet people for some reason call him the goat
chronicle is consistently mediocre in high level games and has been for years
in a game this volatile thats actually pretty good
if he were better than ethan he would've won that final
instead he disappeared and ethan stepped up when it mattered
