As usual i'm here to complain about the format. PLese next year make it a 16 teams bracket with quadruple elim, that would solve everything mathemativcally speaking increasing min game theaory and not making max game theory higher

16 teams is just never happening right now until Valo esports has more growth and there is more money to go around.
VCT keep 12 tier 1 structure, 16 teams is only for kickoff, the exact same way they make a path of champions you make a path of master. Every T2 winner go to kickoff and call it a day.
You do realize that a. There’s only 1 tier 2 winner, and b. that T2 takes place at the same time as tier 1? Also you can’t just say bring previous season winners in because the top 4 T2 teams have their rosters picked clean by tier 1. Also outside of the maybe the top 2 team, the rest of tier 2 is not going to be competitive with the rest of VCT tier 1.

You go only offline for time reason

Move schedule right before T1 after the end of rostermania window, this isn't impossible. Kickoff T2 after the end of rostermania either in January or right before Christmas (Double elim so you can end this fast, in 2 weeks), and start T1 in February
Jan --> T2 KO : 2 weeks
early Feb (1 or to week late) --> T1KO
early Mar (1 week late) --> M1 T2 (If any T2 team qual to inter, they are directly qualified in final T2 in Amer and APAC, and got a direct slot in EMEA/China)
I do think having a path to master is unavoidable for 2027, path of champions is just a crash test.
have all the top teams from Ascension then, just only 1 or 2 of them are actual "permanent" partners for the year, the rest get sent back to T2 after.
this would take way to long, at this point your better just keeping the number of teams at 12 and just doing a full stage with a round-robin groupstage and playoffs.
Not really that wouldnt make it longuer since the max game theory is exactly the same, we would only have less day off, everything is under control
What exactly do you mean by maximum game "theory", the bracket in that video has 47 matches total, thats actually MORE matches then the current Stage 1 format has, which is 44, and 17 more matches then this years Kickoff at 30.
Frankly, if your going up to 16 teams I don't think theres any point to doing an overly complicated bracket when a swiss stage + playoffs would take a similar amount of time and get the same result much simpler.
What make the tournament long is that you cant schedule too many game the same week, because if you do team are gonnaplay too mush and get exhausted, that's why, what decide the length of the tournament is :
Its not the amount of matches each team plays a week thats the limiting factor, It's how many matches Riot can run each week. EMEA having to share their studio with LEC is a huge problem for scheduling.
Still a shame that we have to share with how Val go... But yeah thats prob the bottleneck
This wouldn't really work with tier 2 teams though, most of tier 2 teams have underage players that they would have to find subs for and if you force them to find subs then you would end up with teams like ulf where they can't even compete with tier 1 teams because they don't have the full roster they have been practicing with. Also 4 teams fighting over the best subs and loans would cause chaos.
Underage players are allowed to play in this years Stage 2 Play-In, the problem is them being in VCT technically meaning they're full time employees, and would violate child-labor laws. If they were only there for a couple weeks it would be mostly fine.
I mean it still causes problems because then the tier 1 teams would find it unfair that the tier 2 teams get to play an entire kickoff and stage 2 play-ins which is basically half of the entire year with underage players while they can't even do it for one event, also the latam and brazilian orgs would most likely struggle immensely getting their underage players visa's and it would be quite risky for riot to push the labor law limits trying to force a quadruple elim.
Since they are already a "path to champions" I think Riot has solve this technicality
