So why did they get rid of their 2025 roster when it was looking like their best roster since 2023? Could've just dropped TenTen and picked up another duelist player and went from there

dep wanted to retire
zeta tried to keep clz, but he declined
he also turned down dfm and chose tier 2
former players too tbh
it’d probably change if Laz became a coach, but he doesn’t seem interested in being involved anymore
They can play in t2 and make = salary while not having to leave japan. Its relatively hard for JP teams to convince t2 players to leave their situations to go to korea
can you blame them when t2 streamers and VCL in jp has like 40k plus watching? i cant LOL
Even if the salary’s equal, wouldn’t it be infinitely better for their long-term career to choose Tier1?
Not exactly, you are basically gone after a season or even half a season if you don't perform well in tier 1 while in tier 2 even if you're average you are basically set for the rest of your career as some teams don't make major changes at all.
That’s very interesting
So is Japan the only region with a stable Tier2 scene? I heard Tier2 in NA is bad
hard to say, right now the region is an anomaly in being the only sustainable country for t2 play and its CRAZY massive, is easier for players in home life with little to no travel, and with how "short" careers typically are it makes sense most dont want to risk and leave it for another region where it can change drastically.
Have to see how it plays out next year with more road shows and travel, but given salaries ive heard in JP, if i was there id take the money the same way while i could. IF players are good enough the chances will come regardless in the future if they want it.
