*valorant terrorists
if we're talking terrorists specifically from g2, would add leaf up there after this atrocity
Why is he NOT a problem? How does he separate himself from other duelists in Americas?
he is better than than practically all duelists in americas other than maybe aspas with raw aim, imo the best duelist in terms of movement, and is also very good at playing the role that g2 typically needs for a certain agent (info and util with yoru, sending it in with waylay, etc.).
I heavily disagree with you about jawgemo being that good raw aim-wise, but more importantly, what good does having insane aim do if it doesn’t translate to kills? Raw aim means nothing if you are not utilizing it to get a lot of kills. Same is true of his movement, movement means nothing if it doesn’t net you kills.
Anyone can do the things jaw does. It’s not hard for a franchising-level duelist to just run in, die, and not shoot anyone. That’s what separates good duelists from bad duelists. He is simply not capable of being a consistent carry unlike many other duelists like aspas, Sato, OXY, etc.
Anyone who says some bullshit about him just being sent in to hard entry and die ignores that there’s two halves of Valorant. However difficult his role is on attack, he doesn’t make up for it on defense in spite of the heavy support he receives on defense.
"not a consistent carry" ok, so that's kinda of the whole point of a duelist in g2's system. remember how everyone was shitting on icy (and still are, which is valid now i guess) because he couldn't "carry" g2? that's because he was getting pretty good entries, and from that, it allowed the rest of g2 to shine, and they were the ones that carried. i hate the idea that duelist players are the ones who have to shine consistently and always play well. that's why teams exist. to allow more than one person to get kills.
also jawg still carries sometimes, even when playing this role, which shows how fucking good he is. also sato has not been at "consistent carry" level this year, and neither has oxy so i do not know what you are talking about.
“ ok, so that's kinda of the whole point of a duelist in g2's system.”
It isn’t, and it never has been. I’m guessing you’re a new G2 fan, not someone who was a fan of The Guard so let me educate you. When they had Sayaplayer and Tex, both of them were individually The Guard’s second best player. In Saya’s case, he was arguably better than trent at times.
Icy was a tier 3 duelist who had never played tier 2 or tier 1 before G2. There was no expectation for him to be good, and he wasn’t. Nothing about icy’s game suggested that he was a good duelist. In fact, I’d argue the opposite, he was an awful duelist and that translated to the decrease in form from trent and leaf that year bc he did his job awfully. To say that he allowed his teammates to shine isn’t rooted in reality or any objective measure.
I don’t care that you hate that people think duelists should carry, cuz they should. Every good team has a good duelist. The last time a mid to bad duelist won an intl event was Berlin 2021.
Sato and OXY were both consistent carries last year, you’re judging a small sample size.
ok, so comparing from a time in 2023 where 2 players were different and also the entire meta was different is a very, very far stretch, but i guess it works.
also, do you consider buzz the reason that t1 won bangkok? because i don't.
sato and oxy being consistent carries last year means nothing for your point if they are not consistently carrying now. that means that they are inconsistent.
It’s the same system regardless of the year, same coach same igl in 2023. Also in 2024, even in franchising, leaf was G2’s best player for the one split he played duelist.
I wouldn’t call buzz the reason they won Bangkok but he was definitely part of it. They lived and died by his performances, bad maps from him often turned into losses and vice versa. Funny enough, the one time jaw performed was in the Bangkok finals and that’s the closest G2 has ever been to winning an event.
Judging players by one or two series is not an accurate representation of consistency
Thinking KD alone makes a good duelist is missing half the reason the team had the top 3 performers going into most internationals out of NA.
I cba explaining this concept to you but you are VASTLY missing the point as to how stats translate on any level.
See you have to agree tht that guy cant kill everbdy if he is entrying and his 2nd entry is late and he gets isolated and has to hold site like last season you might have seen him being more aggresive and his team not being ,
and wht i have seen this year the system they have been playing im pretty sure you would see trent getting less kills and jawg getting a lot more kills consedring the next meta is waylay in which your whole team has to go and trent playing as a finisher and leaf playing a role which helps jawg let fight him instead of trent the guy playing recon making him goes 2nd or 3rd entry which made a lot of timing badd for jawg to fight .
For the fact tht you say aspas would do it he cant even fit into g2 system and oxy yaa sure a guy who cant even play yoruu good like the only person who can fit into g2 system would be sato mada kajjak and sato still tht guy you cant say cause the lev team as a whole has been shitt so who knowsss
didnt they have a random chef be their team manager sometime after franchising?
Probably cuz he’s a bottom half duelist in Americas and statistically the worst player in the league
