I would wait till they develop it a little bit more, saw one of my friends playing it and he says the play cycle becomes a little stale after a couple of hours, which is understandable seeing that they released a pretty early version of it.
wait for it to fully release play vintage story instead rn
OR if you wanna play it really bad wait for modders to cook with QOL fixes and content

I've played a bit since it's early access launch and I agree that you should wait for the full release.
