It gave me Demon1 as the 2025 player of the year. It also said both trent and Ethan were on 100T, and Sacy was on NRG. So no, it wouldn't

they swept every regional stage, made every international playoff including a grand final and a top 4 finish only to get two awards. tough

“ How was performance determined?
The voting panel was asked to consider league performance over the course of the entire season when determining their votes.”

Surely you give player of the year and initiator of the year to the 2x domestic mvp trent then….

Other regions awards weren't perfect but they also weren't solely determined by a single event it feels like... ok welp at least EMEA's awards weren't, and for APAC at least they remembered more than 1 event exists (Where is T1???)

well emea's can't be defined by one event since they didn't win shit
And yeah Apac's awards were by FAR led by PRX

T1 had the biggest fluke oat and then did nothing after that its hard to nominate them for any awards

"voters were asked to consider league performance over the course of an entire season"

Ethan IGL of the year in Americas when valyn won all 3 stages xd
Brawk initiator of the year and rookie of the year when he wasnt sniffing top 5 before champs xd
Cortezia most improved player when this is his first year in T1 xd

what fuckin mouth breathers voted for this shit?

Aspas truly owns this region, we should rename it to VCT Aspas

Didn’t even deserve player of the year, respectfully

why? He was the highest rated player of 2025 and those were individual awards voted by all players and coaches of VCT Americas, aswell as the analysts and everyone involved with the league. I dont think we know more than them about who was the best, since they were playing against him

(and this list updated will look cool with aspas in 3 different teams:)

The gap between his stats and Trent’s is way too small to make up for 3 domestic trophies and 2 domestic MVPs

well, then why the players didnt vote for trent? You forget that G2 was a way better team than MIBR all year, with maybe only Champions as an exception. Winning all 3 domestics are more team achievements than a trent carry. Qualifying a team like MIBR to 2 internationals is a way harder task in my opinion

But i think our flags and flair will forever disagree on this lmao

They won 3 events because of Trent’s carry, not vice versa. It’s thanks to trent that they didn’t lose the Kickoff grand final, or stage 1 vs 100T/EG/MIBR/SEN. He was the one going +10 every time his teammates underperformed in close maps

And the reason they didn’t vote for him is simply recency bias, that’s it. Champs was fresh in their mind and that was his worst event.

Ok finally read it, now the thoughts of a nobody: In Americas...

Awarded Best player of the year: Aspas
Actual Best player of the year: Trent, G2's year speaks for itself

Awarded Coach of the Year: Bonkar
Actual Best coach of the year: JoshRT, coaching G2 across multiple metas to be major contenders

Awarded IGL of the year: Ethan
Actual IGL of the year: Valyn, like be so fr Ethan did well at champs but above VALYN??? (Also where Johnqt)

Controller of the year: Valyn, 1st correct choice
Duelist of the year: Aspas, lowkey think it could be jaw but won't argue
Sentinel of the year: Leaf, 100% not even close
Initiator of the year: Brawk, ok yea fuck off it's trent not brawk

Rookie of the year: Brawk, agreed
Most improved: Idc too much about this nomination but I do think Jawgemo maybe since his yoru got so much better as the year went on

jawgemo is not in contention for duelist of the year aspas, zekken and probably mada were all better jaw was by far the 4th best on his team so hard to put him in that arguement
