Did people unironically say this and believe it? His team might be ass the majority of the time but Aspas is one of like 3 Duelists from pre-franchise who is still good.
Honestly I wasn't even thinking of Zekken and Jingg. I feel like Jingg wasn't really peaking and in the convo until 2023 PRX. Zekken wasn't qualifying to most events back then either. Also, Zekken isn't on the same level whatsoever as peak Aspas, Derke or Jingg.

BuzZ was good pre-franchising, and won an international this year (even with the controversy). I'd also argue keznit was good pre-franchising and is still good (but tbh his results don't really hold up, and I think he's worse than zekken tbf).
I knew there was a Korean I forgot but I don't really follow their scene outside of internationals.

no. he has done a lot of GOOD for duelist players by weeding out all the braindead aimers. real pro players would be able to adapt and play the best duelist.

not at all overrated. why do you think ENVY have looked so good when they have a perma yoru? same with PRX, something became basically perma yoru with a few sova maps and he legit looks like the best player to ever grace the VCT
That's cool and all but he's overrated without being bad he definitely just doesn't cater to every team on all maps and it's pointless to force them to just deal with it when they can go play something else look at mibr for example

we are 1 patch away from anything happening. Riot killed jett, sage, chamber and tejo all with 1 update each, no one is safe.
ok and yoru was absolute horse shit before he got the rework. any slight nerf will NOT be enough to kill him, he has way too much going for him but is also extremely high skill so its not worth riot nerfing him.

Does he? He’s had a single good performance on it recently. It’s previously been mediocre
waylay wasn't even a thing before champs, she got buffed in june and it didn't pick up for most of stage 2. also the only other meta duelist is yoru, and he wasn't seeing a lot of play last year when people started saying this.
