Because they have been winning a lot and looked consistent since Toronto. They beat good teams like G2 and Fnatic to win Toronto, and they were dominating Pacific in stage 2 for the most part to come into champs as the first seed.
But like you mentioned, their map pool for this Champs has a huge question mark compared to Toronto.
Yeah but thats like 3 months ago a lot can change in 3 months, who would expect sen & TL got grouped, a team only as good as their last match imo
their last game was a win against the best underdog in champs
their last game before champs was 3-1 vs the regional merchants of pacific
Ig you are right, im just pessimistic when i think about team like prx because its a team that sometimes just lose out off nowhere especially more so when teams that qualified are balance aggressive teams.
Honestly same, I was just explaining the reason why people see them as favourites. For me I'm also scared they might just have a bit of off day and just bomb out like that. Definitely low chance, but doesn't mean no chance ya know, especially when the other champs teams going into playoffs do look really good as well.
i just want them to not underestimate any team, they got a lesson learned moments from zeta's well cooked preparations
the remaining maps are all better than most teams at champs
especially their lotus bind and sunset
3 S tier maps are enough to win the whole tournament,
not to mention surprise factor with 2 maps thats never revealed (corrode & abyss)
- Most recent masters winner -> favourites heading to champs + wins it.
- PRX have current best player itw something + he's in top form after winning pacific MVP + champs group performance.
- Mini involvement + Patmen signing solves PRX area of improvement
- Minimal up down fluctuation with only nitpick is your own ascent comment (actual minimal vlr nitpick critiquing)
- I'm sure the extreme nitpickers have more to say about other teams rn compare to PRX.
- Pacific have shown to be the most dominant region and PRX is prime top example of it.
- Be happy asian teams on top, this is the result of RIOT giving asian teams equal opportunity slot in international events.
I mean prx winning in ascent also in apac. but xlg, gx matches seems to kind of close. it seems like emea teams specially on par with prx
PRX have synergy with longstanding core players. That's an advantage over most EMEA team.
