i actually hate ascendant more then anything like ive been trying to get back to immortal for like 6 months and just cant do it despite feeling like im better then like 85% of people in my elo
deadlock is only broken on like corrode and ascent for me, vyse is insane on every map
deadlock is basically a duelist in ranked she works on every map if u are just aggressive as fuck

Just curious, what agent were you playing? If you're playing a support role like smokes or initiator, you need to both survive and set up your duelists or entries. This might seem quite obvious but a lot of people in ranked tend to either hoard util or spam it without their team playing off of it. If you're playing duelist then that's the tough part. If you're fragging, opening space and all that stuff, no worries. If you get a teammate like Reyna who lurks but is terrible at aiming, you need to play annoying. Deny the enemy a straight 1v1 and stall them so that even if your Reyna misses their shots, there is no time to defuse. If it's for a retake, you need to wait for that teammate to come close enough to play off your info.
very good advice, i usually flex so its really helpful, I was on cypher that game, i think a big part of it is that the team mental died after we threw like two rounds, comms just went dead silent apart from me lol, I tried to keep the vibes up a bit, and kept comming, but im usually a very quiet player, so that probably wasnt very inspiring for the team.
i probably could've played a lot better, my attack side on senti is always pretty dreadful.
im actually sometimes a decent igl(i think?) so i probably should've been louder and tried to stabilise the team.
but yeah our sova and reyna were rage pushing every round so we would never have any util for a retake either, even if tried to hold the site with them they would usually die before the enemies got close to my setup.
That's rough. Honestly, the only thing which could redeem hope for a team with that type of poor mentality is a hero play. Being able to provide morale for round wins and keep a positive vibe is as key as making calls and trying to focus your team - it sometimes tricks people into talking. If someone refuses to speak even if you hype them and they still try to run it down, don't waste your energy on them. I have friends like that and all they care for is their individual performance and self-acknowledging that they're good.
I would say something worth trying the next time you get players like Sova and Reyna who rage push on defense is to support their push. I know it's counterintuitive as a sentinel on defense, but the best thing you can do is provide more utility to help them play aggro. So maybe a cam to spot if the enemies are pushing that site early or a cage to isolate some angles. It's all about adaptation and seeing what works - you could play the most correct Valorant, but it might not be what your team needs in that moment. For what it's worth, pushing with them to trade could have been another option albeit risky. Just some other thoughts to consider when you want to plan out how you can minimise a loss or convert it to a win.
yeah after looking back i was playing really well for the average game, but it wasnt the correct way to play that specific match, all of that is very helpful advice, hopefully i'll remember it for next game lol. thanks

nothing wrong with him just inefficient to rank up with him since you can’t do stuff by yourself. if u wanna rank up quick run into peoples’ spawns with reyna or something and pick cypher when u get immo+ (is what i think idrc what u do with ur free time)
