People getting way too high and mighty for a tournament with no actual repercussions other than sportswashed money. This whole thing is just regional pride. Ignoring G2 played with a coach, the opening games were all Bo1, and there’s no double elimination playoffs, the tournament is played on old map pool and patch, literally the ONLY factor it has is money and if you think prestige is worse than money u don’t understand sports as a whole.

what about them? they were masters tournaments in the vct circuit with double elimination playoffs, swiss stage, playing on modern map pools (maybe a patch off). Just cuz they were 8 teams doesn’t make them worse.

The only thing I agree with here that is the Bo1. I mean, I believe in general Bo3 are a better display of skill and consistency, but esp in valorant which is a very chaotic game, bo1 are not ideal. But the double elim, idk if I agree, since afaik most other traditional sports do not have that
The best team would eventually sweep the lowers even if they loose the BO1 tho, it's not like the BO1 game an elimination

However, the "patch issues" was way bigger at Toronto.
cope. these kids are competitors and will try their hardest to win simply by virtue of wanting to be the best. also old patch means fiercer competition as teams actually had the time to refine themselves and deepen their strats. only fucks over china who let's be real werent gonna do shit anyway. emea clears and it's fine you'll bounce back eventually
