yall will pull out ALL the stops to say S1mon wasn't what won your team Champs 24 (+3rd Bangkok)

so what exactly was the issue with EDG before S1mon then? What made them so mid? Was it bad meta read, bad macro, or bad comps? Did they just all somehow turn up for two tourneys? And how come these issues all disappeared when S1mon joined?

how are you guys not angry when the one player that made your team's success was kicked for vibes???

you should read all of the Bilibili comments, they have been mentioning s1mon non-stop for months and months after edg's loss to blg, and worshipping him like a god. everyone wants him back, the amount of comments on s1mon is astronomical

EDG have the things you listed due to losing a great player that was fundamental for the 2024 champs run.
S1mon’s utility was very good and set up the rest of EDG (who also all peaked at the right time)

This is from someone who’s watched them during FGC and their first ever LCQ run in East Asia (majestic).

Right now they unfortunately aren’t the same as their peak, but from what I’ve seen the environment that was created was both toxic for S1mon and the rest of the EDG core. I think it’s best they split up - at least for now? + even if it was a bad choice it’s always been done so we can’t really do anything.

I’m pretty confident that EDG will find someone to fill the hole that Simon left. Don’t forget they were still able to place T6 multiple times at internationals without S1mon - and they’ve been through thick and thin together,

I agree with the sentiment that S1mon was vital for the 2024 run, however I also think there is a misconception that the team as a whole cannot win without him. The entire team had been improving that year - and 1-2 bad tournament performances doesn’t imply that the team isn’t improving.
(Speaking from a competitor’s perspective, often times we will not perform to the expected level at a tournament, but there are many more variables than a lack of improvement)

I believe EDG’s core - which has been very consistent - will bounce back once this void of a utility player is filled/some alternative.

For S1mon, I don’t know the details to an extremely deep level, so I don’t want to judge his actions.
However, I think he’s a great player who will help the next team he joins reach new heights.

Idk what’s so hard about appreciating the greatness of both S1mon and the EDG core.

I’m not angry because :
1st - I’m not para social, and I don’t live through EDG winning or losing.

2nd - I’m confident that EDG will bounce back eventually. Remember that everyone doubted EDG in 2024 until the very end.

3rd - I’d rather this legendary team be split up than forced into a toxic environment where both sides are unable to understand eachother’s perspective.

I think in about 1-2 years the team will have fully rebounded by then.

(Or split up oops - let’s hope that doesn’t happen)

S1mon is the past, move on to next player. He brought back all the haters from the Madrid/Shanghai times to the other 4. If he's not grateful to be in EDG, just get another player. Gotta move forward to the future.

S1mon was mid throughout all of his duration in EDG and I can tell you exactly why they won Champions 2024.

#1 Everyone peaked during the later ends of Champions. We never thought Chichoo was good until his popoff in Champs, same thing with Smoggy. The only player that was outrageous internationally before Champions was Zmjkk.

#2 The Meta had barely shifted throughout the Entire Year, making it very easy to find which Composition that is currently in the Meta suits your players the best and then master it using Vods and some of your own Ideas.

You must be wondering why I mentioned Everyone Peaking, Including S1mon. He did, and still was the worst player on the Team. His Utility was good but there is no telling whether or not that was because of him or his teammates calling for it unless we can get some Voice Comms.

There is much better Talent out there that they can grow and become great, he is not the greatest player to touch the game. He decided to sack off his life and let himself go after Champions because of an Ego. EDG are better off without, let it go.

idk dude losing S1mon hugely affected their performance, but i doubt anyone ourselves want to play with a dude who doesnt take this as seriously as the others do

Its just cn vs apac. They play together & apac teams got way more exp imo

EDG vs emea & na teams are quite even matches now.
