i mean if riot do that they may get a bunch of backlash but idk what do u guys think

champs will always be the biggest event, and so the events that come before, which impact your qualification to champs is what i count as important, so with ewc not even affecting this qualification in terms of champs points it puts into question if teams will go all out with the risk of showing strats and comps with champs just around the corner and the qualification still not guarenteed, except in the case of g2, which is why i believe they are the favorites and most likely to win ewc

doesnt matter if its held by riot, its an s tier event. Prize pool is easily enough for it to be stated as an s tier tournament

do you think kickoff is also not an S tier tournament? this has the top 2 teams of each region too (who qualified normally)

kickoff isnt a single elim tournament wedged narrowly between masters 2 and stage 2 run with bare minimum production, none of the talent and with half the games unstreamed

fair point on the single elim, the rest is practically irrelevant for its competitive value though. the unstreamed games were of the 3rd and 4th teams' qualifications (which, again, the 1st and 2nd qualified normally by being the top in the split, as they sort of do for kickoff) and even assuming a whole tournament goes unstreamed, it'd still have competitive value as long as we know the teams were trying their best.
