bulshittttttttt

adult sentencing applies for r*pe committed by older juveniles 16/17, so the information would be public
meaning even if molestcent was STILL 16 they would 99% be tried as an adult

they could've done it. they didnt.
this is a double standard. end of story.

I used to work in courtrooms and minors' names have been censored even DURING legal proceedings.

You have to understand that everything can be argued, and a cumulation of perjudicial events happening before a jury verdict can lead to a mistrial. It's absolutely sensible to avoid even the smallest chance that this could come back to bite the victim.

Also, even if it wasn't about privacy laws, how would it be a double standard to learn from the sinatraa backlash and not name the player? Isn't that one of the things people were so upset about?

They can only legally publish the name after the suspect is CONVICTED of the crime.
