Wanna start watching CS2 pro play but I have no clue which team to root for, I can't ask HLTV since my account is new there . I might be late in the scene but it's better than never, So does anyone have any recommendations?

if you like dominant teams: Vit has a superteam and is winning basically every tournament they play in
their close contenders are Falcons (blood money) and Spirit (they have donk)
hype teams that became good recently: Mongolz and Aurora
navi hasn't been that hot recently but they dominated early cs2
faze has just signed s1mple
furia just transitioned into an international roster with a really promising awp debuting in tier 1
g2 lost their 2 best players to falcons so they are trying a weird rebuild I'm not really a fan
mouz is really good but people don't really talk a lot about them
pain has a nice south american roster sometimes they look like worldbeaters but then they just underperform, also have been in a slump recently
tyloo/lynn vision: china numba one

This is pretty good info, I looked into the event calendar and im somewhat confused on how a team qualifies for major stage 1? there wasn't any qualifiers event before

so majors have a new format starting from this one
16 teams qualify based on valve ranking (8 to stage 3, 8 to stage 2)
16 teams qualified through regional closed qualifiers (all 16 stage 1 teams) (they all get to play qualifiers based on valve regional ranking)
(before everyone had to go through qualifiers, and we had open qualifiers too)

also, regions are seeded based on the last major
last major we had 6 europe, 1 americas, 1 asia in playoffs, so the top 6 from europe, top 1 amer and top 1 asia get seeded straight into stage 3
last major 9th-16th was 4 americas, 4 europe, so it's 2nd-5th amer rankings and 7th-10th eu rankings straight into stage 2

so yeah, everything based on the valve ranking

the tournament itself goes

stage 1 swiss > top 8 goes to stage 2
stage 2 swiss > top 8 goes to stage 3
stage 3 swiss > top 8 goes to playoffs
single elim bracket

The only tournament in CS that matter are the 2 Majors (Austiin, Budapest) ,IEM Cologne,IEM Katowice. Any other is basically mickey mouse
