They barely beat 100T and EG back to back. Lost to Sen.

They are just another team now.

it might not due to emea playoffs ending so late
theres a good chance toronto is still played pre-nerf

99% sure Toronto is being played on 10.08 (the patch that just came out taking out frac and putting in Sunset) Tejo nerf is 10.09

Mate. If G2 can barely beat half the Americas league you think they can beat the best teams globally?

You think EG/100T are on par or better than Heretics, Liquid, GenG, RRQ, FNC, XLG...?

Early in the year G2 was a clear top1-2 team. Tgey simply lost their lead in the meta

mfs be typing ts and forget we were literally two rounds away from beating sen

we played two close games and won both, Americas is the best region in valorant right now by a mile.

If anything, it shows we can play under pressure in high stakes games.

Maybe let Loud win a series before you make another shitty opinion

G2 is still a good team they went from the BEST in their region to Top 3 like thats fine. Any of these 3 teams can beat each other, thats good competition for a region. It sucks to say but Americas was a one team region at Bangkok so Im happy it's not G2 only.

Had to fluke twice to even make toronto
After tejo nerfs they will go back to being bottom feeders

They werent allat
Trent was an actual bot before tejo got added
And their shanghai run was lucky asf
Genuine 2 flukes against heretics and them getting stomped in lower finals proves that

"Trent was an actual bot before tejo god added"

this is insane revisionism to the point i actually want to have the talent of saying shit like this. my brain doesnt allow me currently

Trent was dogshit before tejo
That guy couldnt hit any shots to save his life against good teams and just abused cringe guns like odin

Yeah he had a rough year in 2024 but he was lauded as one of the hottest upcoming talents in 2022 and was the best Ascension Player in 2023. A single bad year doesn’t all of a sudden make him a bot.

If that was the case, then T3xture would have been dumped into T2 after his stint in GE.

2024 was relevant everything else wasnt
Like who cares about tier 2
He played like ass without tejo its a fact and a lot of his kills nowadays are cuz of util and hes just statpadding

Like the whiff that he had today was so fucking disgusting

are we just choosing to forget last year? they were top 1-3 in their region last year, beat edg in champs group stage, made playoffs in both internationals they qualed for. G2/TGRD were literally never bottom feeders.

#34

Their last year was mid objectively if you exclude shanghai since it was lucky af

#53

yea if we ignore they're 3rd place finish at shanghai. Except they did well in kickoff (eliminated by the eventual Madrid winners 2-1), made it to the GFs of both stages, then wins their champ group by beating prx then edg. You can make the argument that they werent the best americas team that year (lev or sen), but calling them mid is disingenuous. They were top 8 itw minimum.

Yes, considering they'll have enough time to train new skills, the fact that it was difficult for them is because there was plenty of material to study and beat them more easily. And the fact that they were able to qualify even with that against them is something to admire.

They had a week to prepare for EG and the game was insanely close (and they only won because EG threw horribly). They are a good team, but not the dominating force they once were.

This is some serious glazing. Their lead in the meta melted away. They used to be ahead of the field and now they're not.

Compared to a month ago you cant be happy about this as a G2 fan.

And still they are the only seed one that Masters Shanghai had that is going to qualify to Toronto, you are acting like they can't improve after looking at their weakness in-game, and don't bring the Tejo nerf is going to impact them so hard, without Tejo and with an Icy that was inconsistent they have showed us good performances internationally

Tejo nerfs are active for Toronto right? Yea trent is done for.

G2's grip is slipping but they are still a very nice team. I think EG just happened to peak right now and were able to go band for band against G2.

#35

If it was just EG...

100T should have beat them before. They should have lost other matches in regular vs teams like C9 and Mibr....

Its just too much weakness shown that you cant think of G2 as a special team anymore. Not bad. But not a top 4-5 team globally

Even though I aint a fan of G2, we saw what happened at Bangkok. Literally any team that qualifies has a chance to do well and win the tournament, people need to remember an international is not the same feeling as playing against people in your own region
