What do u guys think we are toe to toe against SEA teams
SA should get one regardless, and there shoudl be 24 teams at champ and 20 at masters
16 FOR MASTERS AND 24 FOR CHAMPIONS WILL BE FINE
20 FOR MASTERS IS JUST TOO MUCH
WE HAVE 3 MASTERS AND CHAMPIONS RIGHT?? WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? IN MY OPINION, FOUR INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS IN A YEAR IS FINE AND ENOUGH. COZ 5 INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN A YEAR WILL BE TOO MUCH AND IT WILL REDUCE HYPE FOR TOURNAMENTS
Wait, 2 masters only, they have changed the format for 2022?? I thought it will be like 2021 masters 1,2,23 and champions
Masters 1 in 2022 is going to be the same this year, a regional tournament?? or not??
Masters 1 and masters 2 would both be LAN and LCQ aswell, then september champs, its nothing confirmed tho, just leaks.
Also if there is only 2 masters, there will probably be more points to earn in challengers
Will they implement points through 3rd party events like what DOTA is doing, would be great because the lack of challengers would mean teams are less consistent.
I hope they do 3 challengers weekends where u earn points + one challengers finals where top 8 still earns points + first place goes to masters directly and 2nd/3rd go to masters by points.
those points would count for masters + champions but challengers 1 points wouldnt affect masters 2 qualification
after every challengers final, master and champions there should be tournament for tier 2 scene
I don't think so riot ever going to involve third party organizations in VCT circuit. I think they might become partners with third-party organizations for valorant t2 tournaments and some extra-regional tournaments but nothing much more than that.
But big events and most of the VCT circuit events are always going to be riot organized
Fewer teams at Masters than Champs? Shouldn't it be the opposite as Masters is a qualifier for Champs?
I used to think the same way but it doesnt have to be. If there is play-ins like in League and the main tournament has 16 teams it would work perfrctly. U would have even better teams at the maint event + more teams at the whole event
I'll be honest man.. Sea might take a map but I don't see a vision where they actually beat an EMEA team plus SA team in champions would get demolished.
EVERYONE THOUGHT THE SAME THING ABOUT SEA TEAMS. LOOK WHAT HAPPENED AND I'M PRETTY SURE NOT EVEN A SINGLE NA TEAM PREPARED FOR SEA TEAMS
AND THERE IS NO HARM IN GIVING SOUTH ASIA A CHANCE JUST TO PROVE THEMSELVES.
1) Anything can happend in Champs
2) When GE/VLT played on good ping they beat SEA teams that can be considered as top 5-6 in a dominating fashion.
3) They have 0 international experience. Give them some time to learn, they will do much better.
when did GE/VLT beat sea teams that are top 5-6? just curious
edit: nvm it only happened once and they weren't even top 5-6
i think SA would get demolished by most teams in Champs at least rn, but if youre saying team secret cant win against Acend of all teams which is by far the worst team in all of playoffs rn then youre just capping. If you say x10 and TS cant win against TL or Gambit or even Fnatic i would get you but Acend is playing like ass, just rename to cNed and friends at this point (imagine almost losing a 7-0 FREE lead TO A BR TEAM thats just trash actually)
SA is toe to toe against SEA?
I only know bout the 13-0,13-3 and DWG is literally 3rd seed KR and KR didn't do well so idk what you are smoking
DWG defeated PRX and GE vs F4Q was pretty close plus there was SAxSEA tournament recently the first ever ,the matches/maps got close but indian teams couldn’t close out. There is a reason GE was on break for a long time and the other team’s VLT (GE and VLT are pretty much on the same lvl ) main IGL is not playing due to hand injury.More SAxSEA tourneys coming in future will give a clear cut answer if SA deserves a slot or not.
Also KR > SEA in general considering this GE did pretty good against 3rd and 2nd seed of KR. This was also the first time any indian team was playing against any international team this year.
No KR is definitely not above SEA. The only reason its thought to be like that is because of Vision Strikers, other than that KR is a slightly better Japan.
Honestly its better for SA teams to scrim SEA teams first and to gauge how good they are, that way you know if its justified to get a slot in a major
SA teams scrim a lot of SEA teams (PRX,BOOM,TS,ONIC,FS its not a big deal) and if you don’t know TS likes to scrim GE and VLT a lot ,know this coz the owner and manager of VLT sometime talk about it on their stream
When GE/VLT played on good ping they beat SEA teams that can be considered as top 5-6 in a dominating fashion. (LVR and Bleed esports, former UwU).
Never did. Do some research.
Only 1 map was played on Mumbai, which they won easily. The rest was played on Singapore which were very close games.
On Icebox they were playing on Mumbai server and VLT lost.
what? louvre literally 2-0'd them in tec with 1 map with on mumbai. bleed vs vlt was the only match where SA won against SEA that is considered even top 8, oh yeah and they were on a brink of a roster change wtih 3 of it's players being replaced. so idk where you got them "beating sea team(s) in a dominating fashion".
Just wait for TEC challenger series 6 it will have teams like boom esports which recently beat paper rex lets see how well our teams play again against sea.
Probably they could demolish our teams probably our teams will give them tough competition and win, but I dont think so the gap is too much between SEA and SA, they are not euqal but not too far and anything can happen in valorant.
i agree with you ngl SA is below SEA as of the last tourney but i think theres a lot of promise in the SA region, they just have no platform to increase their skill. Its a wonder they were able to get this good with such poor mediums to get better, worse internet than western countries, more congestion yet still able to compete with KR with much better infrastructure. Same goes for SEA but id say to less of an extent but then again the qualing teams are philipino
imo OCE should get 1 regardless, now that we have seen the potential of "weaker regions" I say OCE deserves a chance.

Yea i hate how OCE doesnt get a slot, its so sad. Ofc they wont produce results when not given the chance to, and even if they dont produce results they should still be allowed to play regardless
Do oce teams get opportunities in other games like dota or LoL...cuz afaik they didn't get any opportunity in codm and now valorant...regardless it's pretty sad
They get a slot in LoL Worlds , not sure about DOTA

Slot Distribution shoud be like this for Masters
2 EMEA
2 NA
2 SEA
2 Brazil
1 LATAM
1 SA
2 Korea maybe ?
1 JAPAN
1 OCE
1 CHINA
1 MENA
I think is really good and champions slot on the basis of Masters performance
I feel like china should get 2 they are a pretty big region plus as far as i know they are pretty good in FPS too
well IDK
GE scrimmed against China's #1 and won dominantly with 60 on HK server so yea
24-6
2 slots for EMEA is just bad imo, because then its not even possible for there to be 1 team representing each of EU, TR, CIS which would all be pretty strong regions on their own too. Maybe taking one of KR's/ BR's slot and giving it to EMEA would make sense because KR scene is dying almost
OCE and SA should get regardless
Only the they will learn to become better
And if they are lazy to get better other teams will take their spots
If riot wants to grow region that is
riot really need to push 3rd party events, challenger series through masters are not enough and other teams are stuck frozen while waiting for another qualifier.
toe to toe? mf is dreaming, GE will get clapped hard in champs.
maybe try to not get 13-0'd by prx in apac lcq first??
first of all, you guys are not toe to toe with the top SEA teams, apac lcq and tec showdown already proved that. do i think they should get a masters slot? maybe, it's a good way to grow the esport in the region and good viewership. will they get a masters slot by riot? probably not since the best SA team got demolished by prx 13-0 13-3.
If riot would let other organizers do tier 1 tourneys or they themselves would organize more than 3 international tourneys per year, then 16 is more than enough
Yeah but also not being like cs where LANs used to be every other week. No wonder players get burnt out.
idk whats the relation of SEA popping off in champions and SA getting a slot, cuz these teams in champions (ts/bren, x10, fs, prx) is 2x better than t1 sa teams imo. though SA deserves atleast 1 direct slot to vct
Not a direct slot but it would be better if SA teams are added to sea circuit
