Its ambigious tho they didnt ascend normally. They took over a franchise slot
Honestly the team that played wasnt even the ascended team, they dropped Juicy for yaY and the whole team dynamic shifted cause of it LOL

they goes higher than nongshim and qualify champs. probably they will stay in this year.
liyo faria said they considering keep best team if they qualify playoffs both stage 1 and stage1(like being strong team in the region).
as far as i know, base on last position in stage 2, if make it to champs stay, <= top 8 go to ascension, more than that relegate and need to grind again from bottom of hell cmiw...
ps: hmm... if its true, but does make it to master will still not enough tho?
officially, here is how it is supposed to go
If neither team makes playoffs: the team that places worse in stage 2 will be relegated and the better team will stay in Tier 1 for the following year
If both teams make playoffs: the team that places worse will compete in ascension immediately again, while the other one stays in Tier 1 guaranteed
If one makes playoffs and the other doesn't: The one that does not gets relegated and the better team stays in Tier 1
