From an Academy team… they were broke last year
Be serious pls
?? they literally predicted they will go even this year. you get to develop the best 16 year olds in the world. reduxx can improve. incentives from riot to field and academy roster and bringing viewership to tier 2. also rob moore doesn't care he's so passionate and has like 200 million dollars. he can handle sen going negative for the next 10 years.
What can handle going negative for 10years????
Break even doesn’t not mean time to burn money
Nah they need to employ me as a financial advisor
it's not burning money though, im sure they predicted this year to have more gains and its not like these 16 year olds ask for 50 k a month
from my understanding a lot of esports orgs operate in a deficit and are pretty much just passion projects for their stakeholders + owners.
a couple reasons an academy team could benefit sen imo: they can pay the players low salaries and demand high buyouts, more sponsorships and collaborations with other companies, more merch sales, and earnings from tier 2 tourneys/events
they also are winning hella tournaments and getting millions of bundle money, they have unlimited investor money, he calls one of his friends and they can sustain like 2 more years based of that. most orgs are going negative. fnatic are down 28 million dollars last year. trust me bro rob moore knows a lot more about business than you think.
sen is literally only operating on one esports game i think they’ll be fine, halo is forgotten
what other games? only realistic options are cs and league. Maybe fn
they make more than enough from val, plus the risk to reward factor is so skewed that it isnt worth it for them
They gain more fans… it would help a lot for longevity if Valorant dies
If there is no financial gain I think Academy teams are not worth it
Riot should let them go to Ascension and the team profit from selling them
selling players after developing them into superstars. xeus had a 100k buyout this year in emea. Americas will pay better fs.
you can promote them to your roster too.
because esports is a joke lol. what other games could they realistically have a chance in?
They released their Halo roster a while ago, not sure if they're gonna field one in the future, so if they indeed leave that esport it would make sense to allocate what they used to spend on it to the academy roster that way it wouldn't make a difference in the finances. They weren't really winning anything in Halo anyway and they were not as popular so it's not a big loss. They've been leaving all the titles to focus on val.
get to have more control of reduxx's development instead of a loan to another team and get a scrim partner to help with the concerns of scrim leaks in NA
okay they're not doing this because of scrim leaks bro😭😭
im sure riot gives teams incentives for fielding an academy team
not just riot incentives, but they get a dedicated scrim team, plus 5 future players
yeah which is why eg won champs, another team to practice is really underrated. you can practice so many set situations like 5v5 retake simulators 3v5 situations and like everything will be curated. lev and sen are getting different level of practice next year.
its a serious issue lmao most the t1 teams talked about it, revealing their sets is huge
they were the 4th highest in bundle sales
plus they made it to champs so they got a cut from the champs bundle
I think they're probably fine financially rn
4th, but if they keep winning and have a decent looking bundle unlike last year's basic shit, they'll probably improve next year
