How do eSports orgs make money?

Orgs pay half a million if not a million to a single player and even then they can do horrendously bad afterwards and win nothing. Is it even profitable?

I mean NRG, C9, MIBR, FURIA didn't even qualify for any events so they didn't win anything. Idk how much they'd make from merch sales but it's definitely not enough to even pay a top player's salary. Wdym riot money?

Riot def pays all the orgs regularly and the orgs pay riot fees as well

sponsors and no there are few profitable orgs (faze (after restructure), 100t, G2, C9 and some others)

Many things but mostly sponsors. But to be fair most orgs are not really profitable
