The revered Canadian player Joshua "steel" Nissan has made the transition to competitive Valorant, officially retiring from his tenure in CS:GO. The news was first broken in reports by DBLTAP and HLTV.org.

Both reports were confirmed after Chaos Esports Club announced that steel had stepped down from the active Chaos CS:GO roster, with the player currently representing the organization as a Valorant content creator.

A storied and notorious Canadian CS:GO player, steel is currently known for his tenure with Chaos Esports Club, who recently fell in the semifinals of ESL One Cologne 2020: North America to Team Liquid. Due to his involvement in the North American match-fixing scandal, steel was permanently banned from nearly all competition, namely Valve's Major Championship circuit.

Following an update of repercussion guidelines from the ESIC, steel and his former teammates were allowed to compete in competitions hosted by ESL, DreamHack, and ESEA, renewing his CS:GO career. After several tumultuous seasons with Torqued and Ghost, steel has found success with Chaos, who are currently ranked #19 in HLTV's world rankings.
