Riot has announced a number of details for the 2024 NA Game Changers season, which includes the Series' dates for the year, the points distribution and details, as well as Raidiant, who were selected as the organizer for the upcoming season.
Akin to last year, three Game Changers tournaments will be held. The three tournaments are scheduled to be played between January and October. While Series 1 will have two open qualifiers, the remaining two tournaments will each have three qualifiers leading up to a four-day main event.
The first open qualifier for Series 1 opened earlier today, and will remain open until Jan. 10. Sign-ups can be found here. The NA GC Series 1 dates are:
Game Changers Series 1
- Open Qualifier 1
- Registration Opens: Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. PT
- Registration Closes: Jan. 10 at 11:59 p.m. PT
- Competition Dates: Jan. 23-24 & Jan. 26-27
- Open Qualifier 2
- Registration Dates: Jan. 25 - 29
- Competition Dates: Feb. 6-7 & Feb. 9-10
- Main Event
- Competition Dates: March 6-10
Series 2 will kick off its qualifiers in April and end June 16. The final tournament has its first qualifier scheduled for a July 23 kickoff, with the grand final to be played Oct. 20. Full dates for each event can be found in Riot's announcement.
Each qualifier will be hosted in a GSL group stage, and then a single-elimination bracket. Barring the winner — the only team that gets a straight shot to the main event — squads will be drafted into the main event via open qualifier points. Teams may also play more than one open qualifier per series in order to maximize their points and chances at the main event. These points will reset between Series.
The 2024 format remains the same as last year's from hereon. The main events will be played in eight-team double-elimination brackets, awarding points to each team that will later qualify them to the Game Changers Championship.
The Series 3 winner gets a direct ticket to the end-of-year event, alongside the team with the most points. Should the team with the most points win Series 3, the second team in line gets chosen. Two NA teams will go to 2024's GCC, matching last year's slot distribution.
The 2024 NA GC points distribution is as follows:
Riot has also renewed their partnership with AnyKey as the player eligibility verification partner for 2024. AnyKey has updated their verification process, to which all players must subject themselves. Verification may be submitted starting Jan. 10. Full details on the guidelines can be found in Riot's blog post.
The Game Changers Academy program is also making a return as Raidiant Academy. These will be eight events, the first of which in late February, to promote grassroots GC talent. Each of the eight events will have a $2,000 USD prize pool. Full details will be revealed soon on Raidiant's pages.
