"This choice is best for both the team and myself moving forward," pl1xx said in a statement regarding his benching. "I will forever support the boys and think of them as family."

While the team came into the region with high hopes, Soniqs have struggled to aspire to the standards set for them at the start of Stage 2 of the Champions Tour. The team have become a mainstay of non-Riot events, including the Knights Monthly Gauntlets and adjacent events, consistently making playoffs runs before typically falling in 2-1 losses.

While a reason was not officially given by pl1xx, Soniqs teammate Crunchy previously stated pl1xx's absence was due to "family stuff" — which sources have stated to VLR.gg may have been related to his benching — alongside the announcement of Jason "JSUNG" Sung as the team's stand-in for the duelist.

Soniqs currently field only four signed players as of writing, with the team still fielding JSUNG as a stand-in for pl1xx in the team's events this month. Earlier in the September, the team won the BoomTV Proving Ground Finals before falling to TSM Academy in the most recent Knights Monthly Gauntlet.
