Death note would be uncontested the best anime ever if the ending wasn't fumbled. First 12 episodes are peak. Berserk = bad adaptation, SBR = no adaptation, everything else = worse.
It's the best.

Even with the falloff its still top 10. The first half genuinely the best anime ever.
I would agree with this in the past but whenever i see some death note content on internet nowadays i just say to myself "hmmm it's too edgy for me"
After certain character died it just got worse. It isn't but it could have perfectly been as first half is insanely good.
