It's better to look at the whole picture instead of making dubious comparisons lol.
If you want to compare (which is dumb anyways)
- G2 wasn't even #1 in Eu. Gambit is #1 in CIS (although a quite weaker region). Both losing to a T2 Eu team at the end of the day.
- G2 came from a massive revamp in their 1st official game won by TF in a close map 1. AFAIK this isn't the case for Gambit.
Imo is more reasonable to give benefit of the doubt to a way more established team such as G2, than to Gambit.
Referring to OP, it's true people is over-reaching with Gambit's excuses most of which are nonsense
I mean they were playing in a region with the second best team Navi which has only been signed for less than a month. IMO they still have to prove themselves at playoffs
if you don't care about the tournaments you are joining when there is only a week left to the EMEA playoffs then you won't do shit in the playoffs basically.
I think they joined that tournament for fun, but then again only time will tell.
Idk man. Acend members are hyping Gambit up and I think they are pretty credible (Bonecold in some prematch interview from Challengers Week 1, zeek on his Showstopper episode). Ultimately, we'll have plenty of CIS/TR/EU comparison material when the stakes are high at the EMEA playoffs.
People are seriously discussing the performance of teams at tier-10 tournaments, it's funny
I swear gambit will do more than expected just cuz how people react on them losing one map in a tier 2-3 tournament
tbf the one against gydom galva was best of 1, but they still lost. Not to take credit away from gydom galva but they prob weren't feeling it and had a rough day. Also Upsets are bound to happen so it's okay to lose once in a while.
