you cant forget the fact that they legit got a free entry into the playoffs because emea is a free region and emea got 2 slots in the starting playoffs
so fnatic had a huge advantage in that their strats werent shown yet
now that everyone knows how fnatic plays and what made them good

Optic won 1 trophy when an entire region was handicapped then just got top 4s. Fnatic won 2 trophies with 1 of them being an insane comeback.

Fnatic will be surpassed at some point but they've definitely outperformed any teams achievements prior.

It effectively replaced one of the standard 2 masters events. Just because it didn't go the way you wanted doesn't invalidate the tournament.
