is it really a curse if a few of the teams still made it to the next big event tho? other teams just got better
I guess yea, but so many teams on this list either lost players or changed their strategy so much, which backfired.
i guess more competition, new faces and more fun? if they didnt qualify it's bc other teams were better so we'll have a better tournament! :)
only Fnatic deserved Iceland srry just my opinion these other teams got lucky edit: (nuturn and x10 deserved for sure) I just think Sharks vks, liquid,v1 j got lucky again my opinion
imo X10 and Nuturn deserved it, they just ended up losing their best players after the tournament which affected their play
yup liquid got lucky by being 1 OT away from qualifying pure luck guys nothing to do with them being good or anything
add to that, they only went into OT because jampii had a seriously seriously seriously off day(shit happens). The team liquid are lucky narrative is pure delusion. Yeah they're not always great, but they are absolutely not a lucky team, they literally almost beat gambit who are now running the show.
Nuturn - Lost Lakia
V1 - Zellsis couldn't keep his mouth shut, meta caught up
Fnatic - Tried to reinvent themselves, Boaster got in his own head
Liquid - Honestly might have deserved Berlin more than G2, but the who knows
X10 - Lost Patiphan + Didn't make playoffs due to weird format
Sharks/Vikings - Brazil improved a shit ton between Reykjavik and Berlin (like they are noticeably better imo)
No one "deserves" something more than others here. What does that even mean

I don’t blame the format for X10. Truthfully it’s their own fault, they screwed themselves when they used a well known exploit and got penalized points that if they would have had they would have made it past groups. Losing Patiphan definitely is a big hit though.
