well punk are basically the root of heavy metal, there's a lot of punk band that regarded as a metal band or vice versa. motorhead are one of that band
I don't really listen to metal, but Nightwish has some bangers(if you count them as metal idk)
they are owning NU metal scene besides slipknot before they went all out on being an electro-rock/pop band
i personally like gojira but it HAS to be megadeth for me
edit: it kinda depends on what metal subgenre that you're into tho. i like proggressive/speed/shred style one. if love djent/death metal style we might have a difference about who is the best metal band ever
i put that option in spotify where they search for songs based on the song you asked them and a song from gojira appeared and i fucking loved it, i think it was "Art of dying". I'm also a progressive rock style kinda guy
bro i actually found out about gojira from spotify either lmaoo their algorithm suggested me esoteric surgery, that song hard asf. i suggest you to listen the whole 'the way of all flesh' album, thats like a daily drive album for me for a while. wolf down the earth, esoteric surgery, oroburus, toxic garbage island are some bangers besides the art of dying in that album
