floridian snow day thread , aint xeppa in Florida?
As someone who spent several years in Florida, it always just felt like hurricane season was an excuse to get a week off of school around September. Infrastructure in Florida is really well built to prevent flooding and other damage so it’s really not that problematic unless it’s strong and you live on the beach. It’s a lot worse when it hits a place like Houston that isn’t ready for it.
media blasted tampa bay when they gave like fort Myers like 5 hours to prepare, now sanibel island + fort Myers beach is underwater
reading the police scanners in polk county and some people definitely died, a 911 call for someone trapped on top of his car + a family that are trapped in their attic while their floor floods my heart breaks
if they wouldve called it Hurricane Keznit , trembo wouldve stopped it already
