Slots allocated beginning of year. Riot probably didn't expect regions to be this close in power level, so they tried to pander to SA because their CSGO was half-decent.
mind elaborating why is it dumb? isn't 3 slots just enough for EMEA +1 LCQ? imo APAC needs more slots coz its like the whole east part of the earth which is close to 50% of the total population and we only got 2 APAC 1 KR 1 JP 2 LCQ.
APAC(Excluding JP,KR,CN) gets 3 slots already, how many more slots do you need???
EMEA has a ranked population of 2.4M and gets 3 slots while APAC has a ranked population of 1.2M and still gets the same amount of slots as EMEA
because of their achievement. that means their skill is higher than other region so they deserve more slots.

Master Berlin 2021 : Winner and 3rd
Champion 2021 : Winner, 2nd, 3rd, 5th
Master iceland 2022 : 5th but 1st seed couldnt come, 2nd seed played with 2 subs
Master Copenhagen 2022 : all teams went to playoffs, winner, 4th, 7th

Even APAC technically gets two slots because APAC North/East Asia and APAC South/APAC
SA LCQ can be attributed to having both LATAM + BR getting 1 slot each.
