EMEA 3 slots + LCQ is the right decision since Optic is the only one that can provide some challenge to the rest of the world.
It's a bit disingenuous to argue against NA's third seed. They have won a few Masters thus far, and is clearly a frontrunner. Even APAC has 3 seeds.
The obvious place to cut 1 seed from is LATAM/BR LCQ. There's no reason why South America should have 4 seeds in total (other than Riot wanting to pander).
LOUD, KRU and Leviathan did more than any other NA teams besides Optic. Even Nip won a match, but Xset and Guard just got 0-2'ed
Just a matter of form. Previously, you can argue the same for APAC, yet they are getting to finals this time.
SA also flopped Master 2 Berlin last year, every single NA seed placed better than them.
The real reason is that Riot thought BR has the potential to produce a contender, due to their FPS foundations in CSGO. Turns out Riot doesn't have to pander so hard after all, regions are very balanced in this game.
BR/Latam has less than 1/3 the playerbase of EMEA, even putting the NA question aside, they don't deserve more seeds than EMEA, period.
XSET got beat by Optic which is their own region, and Levitan when they clearly threw the last 2 maps countless times.
XSET is clearly at Leviathans level if you watched that match and Optic has struggles in their own region so I think NA is deserving of having that spot.
LOUD, KRU, LEVIATHAN, and NIP are only teams in those regions. There is no competitive play at all, will be same teams always.
NA and EU always have different representatives cause they are the biggest with 7 competitive teams in each at least.
Clearly shouldn't be the same since only Optic can do something nowadays

xset = didnt make stage 1 , 0-2 in playoffs ,would have gotten grouped by kru/ loud

There is a reason why there are different regions, the NA teams you mentioned are the ones that competed in a different region and deserved to come to Istanbul, and the other teams are the teams that are not even in the top 2 in their own regions.
I think there should have been 16 EMEA teams in Champions xD
