what happened to the guard?
when the teams went to icelandia i believed that the guard was the favorite, for his beautiful valorant presented in the NA, who won against several strong teams, i saw the guard losing a few rounds and said relax, they will turn around, and it turned out that the guard was gone eliminated, I'm sad because I really liked this team, because it's a totally different team standing out in NA and I wanted a Loud vs the guard final :(

LAN nerves and hard opponent
They were not ready at all for the unique PRX controlled chaos style and just got rolled

most of guard are so young they cant even drink in the us (easier to break a young team like in acend vs 100t)
only saya had lan experience (lan jitters got to them)
trent did bad both series and saya did bad against prx (no carry)

First LAN for everyone except Saya. They are all under 20 as well, if I am not mistaken. Apparently, Trent also wasn't allowed to listen to music during the matches like he was able to during VCT NA, which affected him a lot. Oh well, hope to see them next LAN.

music still shouldnt be the difference between top fragging (like against c9 and optic online) and near bottom fragging both lan matches

music being an excuse is the tipping point between laughing at NA and "you are mentally ill"

I'm a big Guard fan, but they crumbled under the pressure of LAN.

Their average age is what, 19 and a half? Three of their players are under 20, and four of them had their first LAN.

Could they have performed well if they had more experience? Possibly.

Also the music shouldn't even be an excuse. Their performance is not proportional to the music.

Mentally unprepared + both teams they faced are fucking insane

The Guard did great but stop with the excuses. Making up excuses is like saying 'we are still better, we just this and that'. A team win because they were better.

Yeah my pickem is The Guard winning all the games but i think its because they're still young+first lan. Hopethey get better next time

As a big guard fan, PRX deserved to win that. PRX's 2-0 vs G2 proved that it wasn't just the guard playing badly, it was that the other team is actually just fucking good. That being said, they DID play badly (including having poor fundamentals which is really rare for them). In addition, Trent was really not performing on LAN. He's super young so I'm sure he'll pick it up with more time, but that was another major difference in their play. I remember numerous times in NA quals when trent would pull off insane clutches or get super impactful kills while on Sova (dropping 280 acs average or something), but against PRX and Optic he had none of that. Just got inside his own head I'd guess.
