The cracks were revealed in stage 2 playins where basically all t2 teams just dominated t1 ones. It just feels like they EMEA t1 keeps recycling the same old vet players, when their own backyard has so much to offer (probably more than we’ve seen across all regions). Just sad to see them not given the opportunity they deserve,
All the best player from those team got picked up this year though. And like 4 of them didn't even have the age for tier 1 last year
Yes and it’s certainly good to see. Imo it is partly a product of the stage 2 playins format where they got to showcase their skill and show that they can not only keep up but also dominate many tier 1 pros.
Love this new format because of that. Right now we're seeing a lot of lesser knowns tier 2 players beat more known tier 2 players aswell.
Fr. I love seeing the “power of friendship” teams like BONK win against tier 1 “superteams” like aurora who thought slapping on some big names together within a week will get them an easy run through to playoffs.

NaVi made all their russian players change their flags to international/non representing when the Invasion started or at least I think that was also a thing in other games
out of curiosity is it just team rules on whether they are allowed to or not? Something seems to still have the russian flag so I assume riot doesn't have an opinion on this.
i dont think riot can force them so it really is mostly players playing for Ukranian organisations or ones that actively want to take a stance against Russias invasion which is not a fully safe thing to do with how opressive the russian government can be
Idk when he changed but Moner is Russian just like every other player with international flag here he used to have Russian flag till last year.
