You will gain weight
thats a myth why do you think your body craves sugar?
do you think the human body would want to self sabotage itself, its only going to crave whats needed for it to function
you will only gain weight in a calorie surplus
ofc if you develop a dependency on it but nicotine releases dopamine from which you can get from other things in life. its basically synthetic dopamine, nicotine is a toxin the body has zero biological need for it
sugar is different your body craves it because it needs it for survival, your cells need glucose
Okay, I ate 350gm of Nutella in 1.5 hour so my body craved all of that sugar?
the body craves sugar because we like how it tastes, we get glucose from other sources too (from carbs)
we also get energy from protein
You will only gain weight if you are in calories surplus. Important things alongside balanced calories intake are volume and nutrition.
people saying calorie surplus are not wrong but generally sweet things are an easy way to get a lot of calories… like you will not feel full after a packet of candies or a bunch of reese’s puffs even though they are quite a bit of calories. for example, low calorie popcorn is a much more efficient snack (i’m not saying a replacement but calorie wise you consume less while eating more).
and that’s not to say about the other things about sweets like damaging teeth, diabetes, addiction…
so yeah, eating sugar isn’t fundamentally bad but it should be pretty heavily managed. people downplaying it are misleading.
