100T Team Dissection and Discussion

The 100T roster is actually really good, in theory.

With Asuna being an outstanding duelist, taking the long range duels with the Vandal, an often being the most "impact" performer in his team, it's easy to say that Asuna is the best player on 100T. We've seen a lot of good highlights from Ethan as well, although his overall statistics and gameplay performance could use some work. Ethan is a Initiator main, and he's damn good at it. Every player has their questionable moments, but Ethan is very much being seen as one of the roots of the team in terms of playstyle. Onto Hiko. Hiko is an outstanding player, and widely known at some point in the community as "The Clutch King", although his performance on Viper during the 100T vs. Luminosity game, which was WIDELY FAVORED FOR 100T was not a fantastic game for him, going 38/49/23, but needless to say, the assists say all in this situation. You have to remember that people make mistakes, and not every kill is going to be converted. As of now, the roster has been changed over and over, with ec1s and babyJ being removed from the roster a mere 1 game loss. If you haven't heard Nadeshot's response to the roster change, I suggest you check it out. It's on his Twitter page. It essentially mentions that the players are good (which they are), but he's trying to find a perfect balance for the team. That's really difficult to do during the leading matches into the playoff.

Here's the average stats of 100T performance in the 2022 VCTs. Now, I'm only doing the core team members for this because of the recent roster changes.

Asuna: K/D: 1.03
Hiko: K/D:.86
Ethan: K/D: .87

Asuna's is something the boast about. Being able to perform in such a high level tournament and maintain the composure for an AVG 1.0+ K/D is astounding, then again I might just be praising him for being a good player.

It's been an hour since I started writing this and I really lost my train of thought. Anyway. First post. Bad thread. Lmao.

EDIT: changed "bang" to "babyJ"

Only thing about asuna is that he is not a fantastic oper and there aren't many players on 100t who can match his aggression to trade him in most cases other than bang. The rest of the roster remains very reserved and passive, but if you remain passive you need the strats to back that up but they dont have a deep strat book. This roster is promising but needs time. It's just unlucky timing for the roster trying to figure out their game style during these important matches.

I 100% agree with you. The timing for the roster change and ramp up in team balancing was something that was really unfortunate for this team. Along with the "asuna aggression" line. 1000%. Doing the calculation's for each players KD I noticed that Hiko's performance in games, was very linear, no extreme cases of a KD spread as compared to the rest of his team. His gameplay is very much stoic. Same plays, same actions, damn near same KD per game. You can almost expect this guy to go 38/44/17 in any given game.

Yea he is extremely consistent. I dont know if he will be dropped but he is the backbone of the team, they can rely on him to do his job. But i feel like his slow gameplay rubs off on others, I think 100T could benefit from some fast gameplay using their individual skill instead of trying to just out strat the other team because that is not working atm

I really think that 100T could benefit on making a roster that performs more off of the faster paced plays, you know? Hiko being the backbone of the team is great, every team needs one. In my opinion, they need to focus on having a fast paced entry that Hiko can play off of. It's easy to see that the round goes with a chaotic entry, and then say Asuna gets picked. At that point, everyone is on high alert and the majority of the team (100T) just plays conservatively, allowing their opponents to reset and gain information. It's easier to forget to check corners if all of the sudden an enemy entry gets a 3k and the pressure is still applied as to going "Okay, their entry is down, but judging from these previous rounds, they tend to stay back. Play your life and comm up." At that point theycould become aware of "Oh, Hiko's C long (or whatever) and doing lineups, can we play our util to set him back" or something. I don't know. I really want to see 100T follow up Asuna on their entry more instead of letting the mad man fly in and all of the sudden the tension of the round dies out,

yea they could really benefit from that especially since they dont have many set strats that benefit them at the moment

If they just opened their minds up to different executions and retakes, I would think that it would benefit them in the long run, maybe run each player on a new role?

Thank you! I very much appreciate it. I'm not a 100T fanboy by any means, but I find their performance in this VCT's (now over unfortunately) very intriguing and disheartening. Thought I'd write about it.

There are alot of stuff behind the scenes the coaching and management is the real problem imo

I agree. I don't think Nadeshot should be making these types of roster changes mid-season, but overall, it's his choice. Can't blame the guy for trying to make a top 5 NA team, but the timing was unfortunate.

Lol hiko is literally always last one alive and clutches 1 out of 20 clutch sitation with 90% of his kills goes towards losing round

Just go content creation for 100T and pick up zoomer

His clutch performance has dropped dramatically, I will agree. It'd be nice to see him on a different agent or maybe pick up a different role. I think the crown has fallen off.

I think a roster of Asuna (rifling Jett), Bang (2nd Initiator), Ethan (Sova), jcStani (smokes), and Wardell (Chamber and team op-er) would be fire. Plus a lot of time to prepare.

1.03 k/d on duelist is not outstanding

Why do you say that? What average K/D do you expect a duelist to perform at?

#26

Atleast 1.10 like literally 90% of duelists 💀

#29

Every duelist from a top team in NA has had at least 1.30 K/D during the 2022 vct

it’s more difficult to have a high KD on a team that’s 0-4 versus a team that’s 4-0. especially when your support players, who play a large role in setting up entries, are being swapped out or changing roles.

this isn’t meant to be an excuse, just trying to portray the situation as fairly as possible.

Asuna's stats are below average for his role just like everyone else on the team. When the whole team gets better everyone's stats will go up

I feel like the roster is fine for now. I think that promoting Jovi from analyst to coach after FrosT’s departure was a struggle for him, especially taking role as coach for a play-in against some of the biggest names of NA

#33

yeah their problem seems more like coaching and strats/comp problem rather than team coordination or gameplay

I don't think that they will be able to go anywhere with the current attitude they have. It seems like Ethan and Hiko just make all the decisions for the team, and if anyone disagrees, like Ec1s, they just get dropped. Unless they get some real structure with a head coach that has more power, or a team manager, I think the roster will never again reach what it was in Berlin.

#38

Not anytime in the near future, but it sure has the potential to. There's a lot of holes in this team, management and player wise, whether it be attitude or synergy, or even playbook strat things that this whole org needs to work on. I really hope to see them in a better position next year. It's a battle of relevancy.

Edit: mispelling
