And this is the exact justification that bigots in western countries use to justify islamophobia that you are now railing against. If you can categorize an out group as "terrorists", then you can justify to yourself whatever deplorable things you want to say or do to them. All resistance groups are considered terrorists by their oppressors because it allows them to justify oppression even though the resistance only exists because they were already oppressed. Fucking Nelson Mandela was considered a terrorist by my government for over a decade after he freed South Africa of apartheid and became their president. It doesn't mean anything, and you can't use it to justify any view on a whole group of people

though pkk is pretty bad. kurds have been genocided by Turks for a long time and lots of horrible stuff has been done to them
Yeah it's just such a nuanced conversation cause obviously the violence that terrorist organizations inflict upon a civilian population is horrible, but the reason it's happening is because they are being oppressed and violence is this the only thing they feel they can do anymore to break themselves free of that oppression. It's just a lose lose situation for everyone except the governments that are doing the oppressing
yeah exactly. and if you look at the responses of the Turkish on this site you see how little room for nuance is in their heads. lots and lots of propaganda and misinformation in turkey about it. the suffering the kurds have endured at the hands of the Turkish government since the establishment of the state is way worse than anything PKK ever did
what are kurds suffering of? if you knew what is happening right now in turkey about kurds and terrorists you would say the exact opposite of this

-kurdish identity being denied (saying kurds dont exist, etc)
-low levels of state funding in kurdish majority areas (keeping them poor)
-pro kurdish political parties being closed (not democratic)
-displacement and killing of kurds from their own lands
I could go on. all of these are documented so please don't say they are untrue. I am not attacking Turkish people who are amazing, or saying PKK is good. But the oppression and violence against Turks and the fact they have been denied self determination is just true.
