Which type of players would you rather have in your team? Star players like Primmie, Marteen, HYUNMIN, Meiy, Kaajak, ZmjjKK, Aspas, Heat, Zekken, and Kozzy?
Or system players like Governor, Icy, Bipo, Miniboo, GLYPH, Xan, Dantedeu5, Efina, DaviH, JonahP and Jerrwin?
Honestly, I would rather have very selfless players like Jerrwin and Dante, who are very willing to sacrifice their stats to help the team as much as they can
I'd prefer a star player because if you look at every trophy winner, they had a star player, while most of the teams with just system players lose before winning a trophy(exception being 2025 NRG and 2022 FPX).
this is quite dumb when some of the best players are system players like valyn, leaf, izu, derke, etc.
There is nth that says that a star player isn’t a system
player. you need a system to thrive in valorant in general. it is just that some players do better in systems and some don’t need a system as much as others.
It depends on identity that a team is following maybe depends on coaching staff too
You need both. What makes teams like NRG so good is that they are all “system” players for the most part, playing what the team needs. But Brawk, Mada, and Keiko can go off like a star player roles and usually one of them always is.
And Ethan and Skuba keep the chaos in check while being great supporters and are able to make huge plays when it matters. It’s been a while, but Ethan for example in the final rounds of Map 5 in champs against FNATIC.
The reason why I call a lot of NRG players system players is when you look at the stats at the end of the match. It’s rare you have one player miles ahead of teammates. Sometimes the stats are honestly good but never amazing, but it’s all 5 players playing good it’s hard to find a weak link.
