Been working this summer but my employer did layoffs yesterday because the company was losing money. Trying to find somewhere to work for August because I go back to uni in a month but the hiring process is wayyyy too slow. What should I do? Do I try to find temp jobs?

Actively trying to find something part time to do during uni, I'd just rather work than not during this last down month yk

just exercise and maybe prep for your fall classes :) you're still in a part of uni where not too much matters

employers and grad schools wont make a fuss over a 1 month resume gap either

i wouldve suggested lifeguarding or something for a month, but those kinds of gigs are probably already filled

Yeah probably best to just focus on next year

Not really in it for the resume though tbh I'm just tryna make a bit more money to pay tuition/rent

If you're going back to uni in a month just try to find gig work
Not sure if you plan on working while in uni but if you are, maybe try and look/apply to jobs in you uni area so you can start once you're there

How do I do that? Do I contact temp work agencies?

Already applying for jobs during uni but it's in a different city several hours away so I'd need something new and something then ideally

If you want to do something in your line of work, then i can't really answer that for you sorry

but if you're just looking for some money and to stay busy, facebook can be a good place to find people for dogsitting and other things just to make a little money. food delivery too but im not sure of your situation

Trying to do anything really so if you think I can find something quickly on Facebook then I'll give it a shot :)

dogsitting, dogwalking are two really good options that tend to have a lot of availability. If you live in a more wealthy area too, you can make quite a bit from it. other than that, there's always things like doing yard work, instacart, just off the top of my head
