Comp change opinion coming from a die-hard G2 fan
Obviously, we're better in set plays and team plays - they've been playing together for ages, and the comms are always super organized and in-sync every listen in. However, when the game gets crazy, it really disrupts the system and even though we have some good aimers it really just isn't good enough. Because of the new sentinel/ini buffs, I do think double duelist is obviously still meta, but I think the meta now favors sentinels/initiators a bit more and makes it easier to stop duelists; to that end, I think G2 will benefit.
I think G2 need to try something new. They tried to copy these double duelist comps, and I'm ngl, it's not working. Leaf is used to lurking on viper, sentinels - ofc his aim is good enough for duelist, but watching him play duelist you can tell he isn't a "main" duelist player per se. It's the same for babybay. I think with these sentinel/ini buffs, I think G2 should transition to double-sentinel or double-smoke comps. Yes, I know double duelist is still top meta, but if you can't play top meta at a high level, just play almost-top meta and the HIGHEST level (G2 is absolutely in the conversation for the best at double senti or double smoke comps from early last year). Ever since waylay became meta at Champs 25, G2 has tried to copy it and fallen completely flat. Don't try to copy something if you just can't match it; instead try to beat it. Double duelist with waylay was once an "innovative" comp from DRX. THAT BEING SAID THE ANSWER IS NOT HARBOR (i would honestly love to see some kj).
Ofc i still believe in g2 to qualify for champs, with our points already and the fact that we always lock in for regionals (then bomb out in internationals)
