If ewc had slightly better qualifiers and better timing, such as being after champs or before kickoff, I think it would be nice. Would be nice as well if a slightly less problematic country sponsored them too.
I like how there’s multiple s tier events in cs that aren’t strictly majors, I hope we get smth similar in Val moving forward
EWC could genuinely be one of the best things in esports, it just comes out of the pockets you'd never want it from

there are just too many little issues, nobody debates the weight of a masters/champs because of logistical reasons
people don't refuse to engage in discussion of a vct event because of who's hosting it
these are issues only specific to ewc
the event was and is super entertaining, but there are absolutely some problems that can be ironed out
the venue and ideas they had were pretty lit
schedule and the reason it exists are the only problems i have
Like man it was cool to see cryo win an intl trophy and get an mvp, like watching your favorite cracked cs player win Katowice or smth, even if it’s not a major
it’s just a very sloppily thrown together cash grab that they just stick in between events like it’s fine to win for extra cash but that’s really all you’re playing for lol
I will say I agree with fns that it does really do something to the confidence of a team if you can hang with the best internationally and win, even if the format and timing are terrible
Like imagine beat vit, who were 4th at London, prx, the 2x finalist, and ns the masters winner. Even if the tourney isn’t a masters the confidence you gain from that is really valuable in terms of team identity, you know ur formula works
