I don't like EWC. But i don't get why winning or doing well isn't considered an achievement and is brushed off by people just saying it means nothing. It's not like teams aren’t trying or not taking it seriously, the prize pool is massive and is between a masters and champions so i don't really get it. As i said i don't like ewc so this is the first one i've watched a bit of. do teams usually just throw and try out new comps?

tbh i didn't think of that, qualifier timing benefits teams that do bad in stage 1
I mean besides the obvious reasons the fact it is just jumbled together in and around a masters and the next stage while a lot of the best teams are focusing on that, it's quite easy to shrug it off as not that impressive for solely that fact; a lot of the better teams simply can't focus on both things at the same time and you won't find the best of the best or a team at it's peak during it unless they completely ignored one or the other, which also kinda makes it worse for VCT on a whole too, as some teams purely focus on EWC for the money. On the other hand, I don't think it should be completely ignored as a valid achievement in it's own right, just overall it's not as impressive.
There is a massive field between saying EWC is completely meaningless and saying EWC is the level of a masters/champs
