people genuinely act like playing in EWC is somehow a massive detriment to a team in stage 2, and I just don't see it at all
no way teams are spending 90 percent of prep time before stage on purely antistratting for EWC teams and EWC teams only
surely most of the practice and prep work will be on transferrable stuff like teamplay, protocols, etc
you get to test your scrim theories in a real tournament against good international teams with zero actual impact on your season outcome
almost everything you get out of EWC is valuable and useful for the upcoming stage 2
how exactly are they trolling their stage 2 at all?
if anything, I would expect the teams who went thru EWC to perform as good if not better in stage 2
the ONLY possible negative would be with regards to giving teams more up to date footage, so you might get antistratted
but if you are a truly competitive team capable of winning, getting antistratted is inevitable a few games into stage 2 anyways and you need to overcome it sooner or later
for example, in cs, getting antistratted was not a valid reason for teams to stop playing random fuckass small tournaments between majors and other large events
the tournament experience matters way more
