Champions slots VCT 2022

Issue

EMEA Getting 3 total slots same as KR + JP
KR + JP having same slots as EMEA (yes I mentioned it again)
JP Having a Direct slot

Solution

Merge KR and JP and give 2 direct slots + 1 possible for APAC LCQ (Whole APAC),1 Extra slot goes to masters 2 winner or EMEA
Merge KR and JP and 1 Direct Slot + 1 from KR + JP LCQ

Why it's needed

EMEA consist of 4 Sub regions but it's basically just European / Semi European Countries + MENA (Middle East + North Africa) in LCQ.
In the last Major event (VCT Champions 2021) 4/4 EMEA teams went 2-0 in their groups and 3 of them ended in Top 3. It makes 0 sense having a region with way worse competition and way less teams to have same slots as EMEA, Turkey had more teams than KR and JP qualifiers combined also KR performance seems to be falling off every event and Japan won only 1 series out of 9.

Also even Latam has more slots than EMEA which again makes 0 sense when EMEA is certainly a bit better overall.

No need to take away slots. They are just fine. We need to increase the number of total slots. That's the only way we can solve this issue. RIOT fucked up big time

If you can have 16 teams, I don't see why you can't add 4 more teams. And also Champions is 6,7 months ahead. We don't know the covid situation.

I think Turkey would bring a lot of viewers into Masters and Champions even if BBL isn't there

yeah riot can do something like a CIS + TR event after EMEA qualifiers, Top 2 teams for both region can fight for a extra slot at LAN, EMEA this year just feels a bit unfair when your're gonna play against Top 3 teams in the world for playing LANs. I feel like valorant seriously need 24 team events

i dont have any prob. with jp and kr. jp has highest viewership that is why they are getting priority .
and kr scene is getting better tbh
but br and lat is the issue for me.
emea getting 3 slots is not fair

I don't have a issue with LATAM + BR getting 4 slots (same as last year)

KRÜ showed us why LATAM deserves 1 slot
VK and VKS had very close series against ACE and GMB (both finalist)
Furia okaish from what could be expected from them.

never said that LATAM + BR having more slots than EMEA is okay, issue here is EMEA having less slots + no chance to gain any more (like from masters 3 in vct 2021)

merging KR and JP would only let the koreans swallow the japanese scene. A lot of JP orgs sign korean players, if it wasn't for the 2 foreign player restriction they wouldve sign 4 KR players and 1 JP player(just to keep the JP fans happy).

You can have sperate Open qualifiers like EMEA and play together at higher level most probably challenger playoffs

hmm valid take my counter to that would be, lets say if the system is as you suggested like EMEA, most of the time KR would qualify to the masters events leaving japanese fans no team to cheer for these events. Riot wouldnt want to miss out on the japanese viewership.

it's still a similar case to Turkey, also playing against KR will actually make JP teams better so they don't look "undeserving" in major events

take an LCQ slot from south america and give it to EMEA direct slots

edit: I think south america will surprise people this year and do very very well, but they have still not proven anything and therefore they shouldnt get that many slots
