Very weird to complain about G2 “gate keeping” internationals or shit like that. Why do mfs act like a team would do good at an international if they made it? If you bum out in domestics you going to bum out in an international.

Same with other teams (cough FNC fans cough). You EARN playing an international. Nothing is granted to you. It took PRX multiple attempts to finally win an international? Was PRX “gate keeping” other teams? No. If you wanna go to an international, fucking earn it. Plenty of teams like Furia, GE, FS, NS all made it despite not having a history of doing so.

Comparing RRQ to TH or G2 is ridiculous. The latter two have made a grand final, in TH’s case it’s 2, while G2’s worst masters placement is 4th. RRQ’s intl record is 1-4 (2-6 if you count EWC), and they’ve only taken 1 map total off of a non-CN team

not neccessarily. SEN was dogshit on S2 2024, got on points, and went on a run for top 4 in champions. MIBR got grouped on S2 25, got on a whole ass drama because "C9 deserved it more" or whatever people were making up at the time, and did a respectable run on champs 25. FNC also crashed away on S2 25 and went on to 2nd place on champs, yadda yadda yadda. sometimes things just need a reset and some time to click

anyway, agree with the main point that people do shit on G2 too much. getting decent placements consistently is still a respectable feat. and its not like many orgs have anything to say either lol no one apart from NRG, SEN and EG won anything on franchising (and cmon no one really cares about EG right? NRG is far from being any related to G2 rn and Sen didn't even qualify). choker meme is funny but if we go by "deserving" G2 absolutely deserves every international they qualify

Champs points is a different story imo, it’s to reward consistency over the year. Sometimes shit happens and I think it’s fair to reward teams that did well over the course of the whole of the year. But I can understand criticisms of the system.

Also that statement you’re quoting is more so survivorship bias driven. You don’t see the runs from domestic bums in internationals cause they didn’t make it. Some exceptions but it’s generally true.

They made 4 internationals since 2025, and havent won shit, not even baiting at this point relegate them to tier 2 and give other teams a chance.

Nobody likes to see th same teams dominate

It gets stale

It gets boring

Seeing new teams is exciting you’ll never know

I’d rather see a tournament with teams like Lev Kru 100t Loud rather than FNC G2 PRX the same 3 teams

That’s why people hate them. Also them choking Bangkok never helped with the choking allegations

I like the players and the team but I also am tired of seeing only them

Then get better? Like if you can’t beat G2 or any other team to make top 3/4 of your domestic then you don’t deserve it. Furia came in and absolutely fucked G2 and MIBR and we saw the likes of eeiu, koalanoob, and alym at an international. It’s not G2 (or any other teams) fault. Lock in. FUT, BBL, GE, FS, Furia, and NS all have made internationals this year all relatively new faces.

These top teams make it because they are good. I would rather the same 3 great teams over and over again because I would rather watch good Valorant than a glue fest.
