Never, and it’s entirely due to the progress made in 2022 vs the lack of progress in 2021. I don’t think people truly understand how much the Chamber meta improved how teams actually played Valorant. Chamber was so oppressive that he made teams properly use their utility to take space in defaults for once rather than just full contacting or 5 man execs. The game changed more between 2021 and 2022 than between 2022 and 2026 honestly
proof of that is that the default 2022 ascent comp is the basis to pretty much every ascent comp afterwards for years until vyse/yoru came and almost permanently sidelined kj/kayo
entirely because there isn't a single relevant player from that champ winning roster. Like there's starxo ig but until recently he wasn't even in tier 1. Meanwhile the 2022 champs were still making internationals. Literally people talk more about the Gambit rosteer and they are probably a lot more memorable because Chronicle and nAts have been so consistent over the years
honestly people have this delusion that aspas was loud champs 2022 mvp when he wasn't. Because of this, all these players think aspas carried loud back in 2022 champs feeding into this goat thing.
no one thinks he carried the tournament because loud was a very balanced team (prob the most stacked team of all time looking backwards with 23 fnc) where everyone was shining but he was the closest we got to a actual official champions MVP that year:
He is the goat because he is the best player the last 4 years. Noone has been better consistently throughout
there hasn’t been a single point between 2022 and now where you can even argue that Chronicle was the best player on his team, let alone the best player of the last 4 years
It's impossible to judge what the valorant 'goat' would even be. Consistency? elevating teams? most trophies? highest highs? Aspas is one of the few that fits the form of a 'val goat' because he's a consistent player, won a trophy and has been to multiple internationals. But he doesn't have a track record like the best players do in other games, no one in val could match a Faker for instance.
Noone is good enough or had an insane legacy to be called the Goat yet. The Messiah of Valorant has yet to come.
Prob not because to me to be on the GOAT contention you do need at least one big title but he did win and he been frying ever since so who cares
